To be a Sierra Club Green Home verified Green Provider by becoming GreenChecked. The GreenCheck criteria requires the company to be aware of indoor air quality, energy usage, water usage, material usage, waste, customer education, provider health, and provider business practices. And also to continue to make a legitimate and meaningful effort to offer a product or service that is more sustainable than what is commonly available. Only when GreenCheck approved, will my company's full profile be made available on the GreenPages search.
Look for opportunities to green my business. This means constantly looking for ways to help my customers reduce energy and improve indoor air quality. It also means I'll look for opportunities to reduce and recycle waste and generally use less resources to get the job done
Look for opportunities to green my daily life. The means recycling newspapers, magazines, scrap paper, cardboard boxes, aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles; monitoring water usage closely by running sprinkler for shorter intervals, turning off the tap while brushing teeth, running dishwasher only when full and taking shorter showers; reducing my energy usage by turning off lights, installing CFLs, adjusting the thermostat, purchasing Energy-Star equipment and buying fuel efficient vehicles
Be a green leader in my family, business and community. This means encouraging family members, employees, suppliers and customers to employ the practices outlined above. I will evaluate how I and my network are doing every 90 days, and on areas that we are not practicing, will improve our performance.
