fyi: Cooler Planet is a lead generation service which charges installers to be ‘referred’ to prospective customers. It adds to the cost by being in between the consumer and the provider.
Likewise, 1BOG purports to provide an advantage by having solar contractors ‘bid’ on the entirety of the projects for a given area but they charge $.25 per watt to the installer which gets passed directly on to the consumer! The bids awarded thus far are for ridiculously low cost per watt and I have challenged 1BOG to provide a customer who actually paid the winning price bid with no response. If you check, you’ll see the winning bidders have an extensive list of uplifts and add-ons which escalate the price.
We have been fighting for truth in advertising and fair competition since we started our solar design, installation business four years ago. We have done over two hundred installs, are certified, licensed, bonded, insured and experienced. Some of the installers are none of these things and it is a danger to the consumers and our industry.
