I want to buy or build a low lying couch or love seat and I was wondering where in the Oakland, CA area I can buy some eco- friendly foam to upholster home sewed covers. I was reading about soy foam? If anyone has an idea for me, please write.

I think a home looks better when you have different pieces of furniture and not just a set that you could find at any firniture store. I like to fill my home with pieces I find at thrift stores, yard sales or even stuff that i find on the street.

I have a green site and all my wood furniture is hand carved from sustainable wood resources.I wanted to point out that while many wood products can be made from sustainable wood resources that is only part of the equation. My furniture is natural wood with natural oil finishes....No varnish or chemical sealants.Propane and solar powered kilns are used in the curing process. What consumers need to be aware of is that natural wood furniture is a bit different and requires a little more TLC as they are still breathing pieces of wood. They are more sensitive do being in direct sunlight and humidity or lack of humidity. They will develop checking(small cracks) and this is normal. There are some great all natural bees wax products out there that are great for natural wood products.....Actually they work great on any wood products
