Stuff ya “emissions” CO2 is good for plant life; grow a tree. If the structure saves heat forever, its an investment forever.

If you have 0 kids you are doing no harm to the environment forever.
If you have 2 kids you are maintaining harm to the environment forever.
If you have more than 2 you are responsible for increasing “carbon use” and multiplying carbon use forever.

Jesse said exactly what I was going to say… concrete production can be hell on gas emission! I never heard about “green” concrete though. I may have to research that! Great article.

Absolutely a great idea to use passive solar. However, concrete production is a tremendous greenhouse gas emitter. There is a rumored “green” concrete in the research phase.

Using dark rock such as basalt (if it’s close by of course) will help reduce the volume of concrete in a wall like this, which as we know is made with a lot of energy input.

I think this is a great heating option for people that want to get a lasting benefit! My family in Colorado has this system installed and they focus their main events like dinners and entertaining there.

i dont think a concrete wall should be considered “green” its just smart. millions of homes around the world are built like this, but they dont go around broadcasting it to the world.
