Renee, I'm sorry to hear about all the trouble your family has gone through with finding the right window treatments! As a rule of thumb, PVC blinds will most definitely off-gas, I advise that you avoid these. Wooden blinds have to be dusted frequently and may still off-gas due to their stain or finish. Fabric drapes are great on energy savings (when applicable), but they must be vacuumed or washed regularly to avoid harboring allergen. Your best bet would be to go with FSC certified wooden blinds that are stained with a ZERO-VOC product. But remember that in order to avoid adding allergens into your home you should clean your blinds/shades with eco-friendly and low-allergen products. I would recommend that you use our GreenPages search for your zip code to locate a GreenChecked provider near you. In addition, please direct you attention to these vendors and products. They are fabric shades with ZERO-VOCs, no off-gassing, and they are recyclable. http://www.hunterdouglashospitality.com/channel/window/model/GreenScreenFR.jsp http://www1.americanblinds.com/control/infopage?page=eco.html&master=resourcecenter Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way!

I need to find out if anyone knows of any window blinds/ wood and or woven wood roman shades that DO NOT off gas. We've purchased a couple different wood (real) blinds, as well as woven woods and we cannot use them as they offgas so much (voc's and who knows what else). I'm having trouble finding a product that doesn't bother our allergic family. thanks
