Hi Regina, Overall LOCALLY GROWN, organic food is GOOD for the environment. There have been abuses in the past on using the "organic" label as a marketing tool without a legs behind it. Now, however, USDA Organic labels things that are legitimately organic. Look for USDA Organic! Hope this helps. Jennifer
Organic food is clearly becoming a very popular item for shoppers. Many know that the benefits include a healthier diet, no pesticides, fertilizers, or growth hormones. I understand that the CO2 emissions caused by shipping the organic food is very damaging, more than driving to the locally grown farmers market. However, do people consider the cons of organic food? I am neutral to the topic, but curious to know what others think. Is organic food good or bad for the environment?
