Question to think about - Here in the midwest we have ethanol blended fuels available at every gas pump. The auto industry makes flex fuel vehicles. Instead of increasing mpg ratings to reduce imported oil, what about increasing the distribution of ethanol fuels across the country - it is available in 10% to 85% blends. It would decrease the amount of imported oil, help our farmers here (better price on their corn & reduce the need for subsidies) & lower fuel costs for every American. 10% blends runs $0.10 less per gal., 20% blend runs $0.20-0.30 less per gal & 85% up to $1.00 less per gallon. Is it just big oil preventing the spread of ethanol or what?? your thoughts???
