Apartment living doesn't mean environmental compromise....going green in the city is fun and easy with patio composting kits, low VOC paints (like those from Pantone+Fine Paints of Europe) and pint-sized recycling bins. Take it out step further by living in a green highrise community like the acclaimed LEED certified EVO South in LA or Atwater Place in Portland where residents enjoy many earth-friendly benefits including on-property yoga and eco-friendly interior design packages created exclusive for them by CRATE. Imagine turning the key and stepping into a new residence designed to support health, happiness and environmental well-being!

Hi there, Thanks for the reply. We'd like to think most of our educational content is applicable to every type of living space. For example, information on shower curtains, bathroom fans, gas and electric stoves, and most appliances are pretty cross applicable to any space. However, I understand if you are renting versus owning that certain capital investments do not make good economic sense. Please clarify which situation you are in and I can help. In terms of immediate direction, please check out our Green on 19 video (see video library tab), this is a condo building you may be able to relate to. The quick tips that I give to everyone just starting out are: replace conventional lightbulbs with CFL's, Recycle, Air Seal (low/no VOC caulks), Water reduction, and Lights off. These are great ways to start!

This website has a lot of great tips for homeowners, but what about a list of tips for those of us who live in apartments? Is there a list of suggested energy saving techniques and ways to green an apartment on here? Since a person cannot feasibly reconstruct the entire building or make the capital changes and investments if he or she lives in an apartment, it would be helpful to have something catered to that group of people. Thanks!
